Maureen Denise McCormick is the daughter of Richard McCormick. She was born on August 5, 1956, in Woodland Hills California. The mother of the child was home and also mother to her children. Michael Dennis Kevin is her three elder siblings. McCormick always enjoyed dancing, singing and creating performances with puppets. She won her first contest, the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest at the age of 6 and was contacted via Pat Domigan, a talent agent with the Jack Wormser Agency. He asked her if she wanted to join the show business. McCormick was hired to star in her first big part in 1964, in the tv spot for Mattels most recent doll, Baby Pattaburp. The following year she appeared in another commercial for the companys Chatty Cathy doll and was soon cast in the play the play Wind It Up And It is Broken at the La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch In 1969 McCormick was picked from among 1500 children who had auditioned to play the eldest of three daughters towheaded in the upcoming TV comedy The Brady Bunch starring Florence Henderson and Robert Reed as newlyweds with the family of a blended couple. The run of five years for the show was a great success. McCormick's book Heres the Story, Surviving Marcia Brady: Finding My True Voice was released in 2008. The book revealed that McCormick almost lost her virginity on stage of the show during the fifth season, when she was a victim to Barry Williams. He was 19. She was 16. It would have happened she stated, but the time wasn't the right time for us.
